Established in December 2020, SMIC Jingcheng Integrated Circuit Manufacturing (Beijing) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC), is situated in the Yizhuang New Town of Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area. It operates as a company dedicated to the manufacturing of 12” integrated circuit wafers and integrated circuit packaging series; technical testing; as well as technical development, technical services, and design services associated with integrated circuits.

L&K Engineering has undertaken the construction project of the BJ FAB3-P1 plant of SMIC Jingcheng (Beijing) in 2021, including the engineering of process cooling water technology and vacuum cleaning system.

 In the first half of 2022, amidst stringent epidemic prevention measures and requirements, L&K Engineering Team for the SMIC Jingcheng Project, under the guidance of the Owner, proactively addressed various construction challenges by implementing advanced preparation measures for equipment and material arrival, among other strategies. Moreover, during the on-site control period, we successfully resolved matters such as accommodation and meals for nearly two hundred construction workers within the factory premises. Project managers also resided in the office area, ensuring uninterrupted workflow during the control period and accomplishing the crucial milestone of reopening Plant A on May 15. L&K Engineering Team for the SMIC Jingcheng Project placed great emphasis on safety management, ensuring strict control of personnel. The project maintained an impeccable record of zero accidents in safety management, epidemic prevention deployment, and fire training exercises. All personnel actively cooperated with the management by the Owner and L&K Engineering, strictly adhering to the Owner’s ESH standards and corporate regulations throughout the construction process, setting a commendable example.

Throughout the construction process, we actively cooperated with the Owner to survey the site, deepen the design, overcome the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and on-site issues. The Project Team rooted itself in the front line of construction, and all system engineers fulfilled their duties and worked together. Each member of the team strived to achieve the “5.15” goal for Plant A and the “8.15” goal for Plant B. We have received recognition and praise from the Owner, and have been awarded the “Outstanding Cooperation Award for Jingcheng Projects” and the “Exemplary Collaboration Unit for Safety and Environmental Management”. Additionally, the Safety Manager has also been honored with the title of “Outstanding Safety Manager”.
